This group is intended to be a safe space for mamas of colour living and raising little ones in the Ottawa/ Gatineau region.

A 'person of colour' is a term designed to encompass those who face systemic oppression due to racism. (e.g. Asian, Black, Brown, etc.)
Our goal is to share our stories and our resources all while supporting each other both online and in person.
There are many events happening in our city but many mamas of colour are unaware of them or simply don't feel welcomed. Let's attend some of these together! Let's give our babies a chance to be around other babies, toddlers and children of colour.
Many of us need other mamas who walk in similar shoes. Let's walk together!
An absolutely beautiful community organization! I watched the interview with Pearly Pouponneau last week on the Ottawa news with regard to the difficulties facing our marginalized citizens as they try and navigate our city at this time...so important to recognize! As Pearly said: peaceful protests are a good thing..although, what is currently happening in Ottawa (confederate flags are displayed?) is not at all rooted in equality and freedom for ALL ..quite the contrary. The message below does not represent the feelings of the majority of citizens of Ottawa, or Canada for that matter.
